The use of a harmonica is a master stroke. Delicacy and subtlety describe this recording. This is a very rich recording, yet it is not just “gimmicky” just rich, detailed and transparent. Indeed such processing can make the sound worse. the original recording lacks the necessary detail to be processed digitally and show an audible improvement. Remasters often fail to please as it’s just not possible to make a silk purse from a sows ear, i.e. Vocals – often used as an instrument to add texture and toneĪs a general rule of thumb recordings from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s are nearly always better on the original vinyl.Treble – high frequencies – Very open and spacious with crisp clear found sounds and elegant acoustic guitar playing.Bass – low frequencies capable of some very deep tones which can pound and pummel, slightly lacking in detail but nor weight.
